What We Are Committed To
Enhancing the principle of equal opportunities for all persons such that no deserving persons are discriminated against based on gender.
Foster an enabling environment that promotes and facilitates gender equality at all levels. This will ensure that adequate resources including academic programmes and staff training are gender responsive to enhance gender parity.
Creating and promoting a gender sensitive work environment within the University and its various campuses. Towards achieving this goal, the University organizes regular workshops/seminars and exposure to a variety of other inputs. All JKUAT events/programmes, both internal and external, have a gender component addressing gender specific needs of the participants.
Enhance documentation of all the processes related to gender mainstreaming within the University and make it accessible to all. It will also strive to promote and strengthen gender equality within the work spheres through various channels of communication.
Ensuring that intervention strategies encompass all University functions, systems and processes because gender is a cross-cutting issue.
